Lately, I’ve been researching about Mountain Dew Gamers Arena Championship in Pakistan, I noticed that I haven’t posted anything related to CS: Go or Dota 2, which I’ve been discussing in my previous post. Then, I decided to myself I will surely write about both of these games in case you needed help. Here I am today with another interesting article about Counter-Strike (CS) video game series. In this article, you will be acknowledged only about the main series of the Counter-Strike video game. I hope you will find it interesting.
Where did the origins of Counter-Strike (CS) come from? I’m gonna tell you a little bit of history of Counter-Strike (CS). The game was originated from a Half-Life modification by Minh ‘Gooseman’ Le and Jess ‘Cliffe’. The developer of Valve Software, who created Half-Life began to support in the development of Counter-Strike (CS). They really did their best, and succeeded.
A game without competition is boring. The gameplay of Counter-Strike (CS) video game is an objective based first person shooter. There are two teams opposing, the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists. Both are in a competition to complete given objectives such as securing a location to plant or defuse a bomb and rescuing hostages etc. There is a winning prize in the game at the end of each round. You can buy powerful weapons with in-game currency, you will be rewarded based on your individual performances. In Counter-Strike (CS) you must have to win each round, winning rounds will result in more money than losing. In case, completing your objectives like killing enemy players gives cash bonuses. For fun, if you try to do some uncooperative actions like killing your own teammates will result in a penalty. I better suggest you be serious in Counter-Strike (CS) throughout the series.
Counter-Strike (CS) 2000
Counter-Strike is also known as (CS) a multiplayer first-person shooter video game series. It means you will be shooting your enemies and other targets view the action as though through the eyes of the character you are controlling. The game was originally developed by Valve Corporation for Microsoft Windows and later, the Mac OS X, and Xbox. Counter-Strike (CS) was first released on 9th November 2000.
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (CS: CZ) 2004
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero or (CS: CZ) is also a first-person shooter video game, followed by Counter-Strike. The game was developed by Turtle Rock Studios. It was released in 2004. Counter-Strike: Condition Zero is a multiplayer game, that includes a single player mode with a ‘full’ campaign and bonus levels. It also features updated character models, textures, maps, and other graphical tweaks. Although, it bundled with a copy of Counter-Strike regardless of how you purchase it. The game was made for the platforms Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Counter-Strike: Source (CS: S) 2004
Meet another installment of Counter-Strike video game series, Counter-Strike: Source, also known as CS: S is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game just like its ancestors. It was made as the complete remake of the original Counter-Strike on the source engine. In Counter-Strike: Source, there are two teams opposing each other Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists just like the original Counter-Strike. The game is a complete copy-paste of first Counter-Strike but with more advanced options in each round. More and more improvement is done throughout the installment. The game features a count-down, You need to complete an objective like defusing a bomb or rescuing hostages or eliminating all members of the opposing team before time is up. You gotta be so fast in Counter-Strike: Source (CS: S).
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) 2012
Alright Geekers, I guess this is the end of our Counter-Strike video game series. The very latest installment in Counter-Strike franchise is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is better known as (CS: GO). It is the fourth installment in the series. The game was developed by Valve Corporation and their partner, Hidden Path Entertainment. CS: GO was officially released on August 21, 2012, especially for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, and OS X, and later Linux. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) is also compatible with the Xbox One.
CS: GO follows the similar gameplay, two teams opposing each other: the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists. Different tasks are given to both teams which they need to complete. There are eight game modes, each has distinct characteristics specific to that mode. If you’re playing the Terrorist mode, you must either plant the bomb or defend the hostages, but if you’re playing the Counter-Terrorists mode you need to prevent the bomb from being planted, or rescue the hostages. Don’t forget to complete your tasks.
